Official AstraYudha Rules
Athlete Equipment & Dress Code

All competitors must use standardized equipment:

  • White sports uniform (mandatory)
  • One hand: approx. 3-feet approved training stick
  • Other hand: certified protective blocking pad
  • Head, body, and joint protection as required by category
  • Barefoot or approved sports footwear (as per event rules)

No sharp, metal, or modified weapons are permitted.

Competition Arena
  • Conducted on a flat indoor sports mat
  • Clearly marked fighting and safety zones
  • Minimum one center referee and two side judges
  • Medical and safety officials present during all bouts
Match Structure
  • Man-to-man competition only
  • Matches are divided into rounds (time varies by age category)
  • Rest intervals provided between rounds
  • Match begins and ends only on referee command
Legal Techniques (Scoring Actions)

Points are awarded for clean, controlled, and accurate techniques, including:

  • Valid stick strikes using proper technique
  • Successful defensive blocks with the pad
  • Balanced footwork and correct body posture
  • Clear attack–defense combinations
  • Demonstrated control without excessive force

All techniques must show skill, not aggression.

❌ Prohibited Actions

The following are strictly forbidden:

  • Strikes with excessive force
  • Attacks to prohibited target areas
  • Using the stick with both hands
  • Dropping or throwing the stick intentionally
  • Hitting after referee stoppage
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior or disrespect

Violations may result in warnings, point deductions, or disqualification.

Prohibited Target Areas
  • Throat / neck
  • Spine / back of head
  • Groin
  • Knee joint and below
  • Any non-protected vulnerable area
Scoring System

Points are awarded as follows:

  • 1 Point: Clean, controlled valid strike
  • 2 Points: Clear attack combined with effective defense
  • 2 Points: Clear Body attack with valid kicking techniques
  • 3 Points: Controlled Head Touching valid kicking techniques

The athlete with the highest total score at the end of the match is declared the winner.

Penalties & Safety Control
  • First offense: Verbal warning
  • Second offense: Point deduction
  • Serious offense: Match stoppage or disqualification

Referees may stop the match at any time to:

  • Check athlete safety
  • Adjust equipment
  • Prevent injury
Scoring System 🟢 Valid Scoring Criteria

Points are awarded for clear, controlled, and effective techniques.

  • Clean Rubber stick strike to legal target 1 point
  • Successful defense + counter 2 points
  • Clear Body strike with kick (controlled) 2 points
  • Clear Head strike with kick (controlled) 3 points
Winning Conditions

A match may be won by:

  • Higher points at full time
  • Technical superiority
  • Opponent disqualification
  • Referee stoppage for safety

This is a sporting contest, not street fighting or battlefield combat.

Match Duration
  • Sub -Junior Category: 1 rounds × 1.5 minutes
  • Junior Category: 1 rounds × 1.5 minutes
  • Senior Category: 1 rounds × 2 minutes
  • Masters Category: 1 rounds × 2 minutes

The referee may stop the match at any time for safety or rule enforcement.

Referee Authority

The referee has full authority to:

  • Start, stop, or pause the match
  • Issue warnings or penalties
  • Stop contest for safety
  • Declare winner

Referee decisions on safety are final and non-appealable.

These Rules & Scoring Regulations are the official competitive standards of AstraYudha sport and are mandatory for all sanctioned events, championships, and training programs.
