World AstraYudha Federation (WAF)

Preamble

The World AstraYudha Federation (WAF) is established as a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious international governing body dedicated to the preservation, regulation, and global development of AstraYudha, a traditional weapon-based martial art system.

This Constitution and associated policies define the principles, structure, authority, and ethical framework under which WAF operates worldwide.

 Name & Legal Status
  • The organization shall be known as the World AstraYudha Federation (WAF).
  • WAF functions as an independent, non-profit international federation.
  • WAF operates in accordance with applicable international laws and respects national regulations of affiliated bodies.
Objectives

The objectives of WAF are to:

  • Preserve the cultural heritage and traditional values of AstraYudha
  • Promote ethical and safe practice worldwide
  • Develop standardized governance and technical structures
  • Encourage international cooperation and cultural exchange
  • Represent AstraYudha in global traditional sports platforms, including engagement with the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG)
  • Prevent misuse or commercial exploitation of traditional martial knowledge
Principles & Values

WAF is governed by the following principles:

  • Respect for tradition and cultural authenticity

Membership & Affiliation
  1. Membership is open to recognized national federations, regional associations, clubs, and individuals.
  2. Only one National Federation per country may be recognized.
  3. All members must comply with WAF Constitution, policies, and ethical codes.
  4. Membership rights and responsibilities are defined by affiliation category.
Governance Structure

WAF governance consists of:

  • General Assembly – Supreme authority
  • Executive Committee – Administrative and strategic body
  • Technical Committee – Training, curriculum, and standards
  • Ethics & Disciplinary Committee – Compliance and conduct

Each body operates under defined authority and procedural rules.

General Assembly
  1. Composed of recognized National Federation representatives.
  2. Meets periodically as determined by WAF regulations.
  3. Responsibilities include:
    • Election of Executive Committee
    • Approval of policies and amendments
    • Strategic direction of the Federation
Executive Committee
  1. Responsible for daily administration and international coordination.
  2. Implements General Assembly decisions.
  3. Ensures compliance with Constitution and policies.
  4. Represents WAF in official international matters.
Amendments
  1. Amendments to the Constitution may be proposed by the Executive Committee or member federations.
  2. Amendments require approval by the General Assembly.
  3. All amendments must align with WAF objectives and principles.
Dissolution
  1. Dissolution of WAF may only occur through General Assembly resolution.
  2. Assets shall be transferred to a non-profit body with similar objectives.
  3. No individual shall benefit personally from dissolution.
Technical Authority
  1. The Technical Committee governs:
    • Training methodology
    • Instructor certification
    • Traditional weapon safety
    • Technical documentation
  2. Technical standards prioritize safety, authenticity, and tradition.
Ethics & Discipline
  1. WAF maintains a strict Code of Ethics.
  2. Prohibited actions include:
    • Political or religious misuse
    • Discrimination or abuse
    • Unsafe or unethical instruction
    • Misrepresentation of AstraYudha
  3. Disciplinary measures may include warning, suspension, or termination.
Declaration

This Constitution and associated policies affirm the commitment of the World AstraYudha Federation to ethical governance, cultural preservation, and responsible international development of AstraYudha.

Safety & Child Protection Policy
  1. Safety is a fundamental responsibility of all members.
  2. Use of traditional weapons must follow approved safety guidelines.
  3. Child protection measures are mandatory for all youth programs.
  4. Abuse, negligence, or exploitation is strictly prohibited.
Financial Policy
  1. WAF operates on a non-profit basis.
  2. Funds are used solely for:
    • Administration
    • Development programs
    • Cultural preservation
  3. Financial transparency and accountability are mandatory.
Intellectual & Cultural Protection
  1. AstraYudha knowledge is a cultural heritage asset.
  2. Unauthorized commercialization or distortion is prohibited.
  3. WAF protects traditional integrity while supporting educational promotion.
